Making a House a Home

The kids all came for a visit a few weeks ago. I absolutely treasure every moment when the house is full! They began arriving on Saturday and the last of them left out on Thursday. I neglected to get a group shot, but these two stole the show

My in-laws came on Tuesday. My MIL was turning 86 and although she never wants to celebrate her birthday, we did so in an understated way. No singing of Happy Birthday allowed (although when it's sung by a 3 yr old great granddaughter, it brings joy), but a day filled with family, good food, and great grandbabies made the day celebratory nonetheless.

All hands on deck to feed the crowd

This little one melts my heart.

He's pretty lovable

We bought a table and chairs for the deck and with the help of the Director of Assembly, DH and our SIL were able to get it all put together

Good job buddy!

Grandbaby love is the absolute best

The first day I said, "Let's go to the barn" and without any prodding from me, she began to sing, "Old McDonald" and my heart melted. It melted a lot that week.

Champion egg gatherer

and chicken and guinea feeder

Horsey kisses are the best!

This sweet child has a wild mane and she does not like to have it combed

Uncle Ty-Ty was smitten with Baby L

Who can resist that face?!

Love this shot our girl captured

Yes, the tub was a happy place

As was the deck

The perfect way to begin the day

Mountain baby!

I walked out one morning and saw this

E exclaimed excitedly, "Gram! Pap and I saw a Mama bear...and a Daddy bear...and a baby bear!" 😂

These 2 cousins bonded over blocks

And books

and towers

And our hearts were filled to overflowing with each and every moment

We christened the property with grandbaby love and laughter for 5 days and began filling it with treasured memories that make a house a home

Thanks for sharing your family pictures. Oh what fun with all the family there; especially the grandkids. Your grands are so cute. I see a quilt was put to good use too.

I got so teary eyed reading your post this morning. Our kids have no idea what it means to have the family together. I guess they won't until they are older. Your grandbabies are beautiful and have certainly christened your home. I'm enjoying the little snippets of your home and can't wait to get a tour once you're more settled. Oh my, that kitchen.......

I smiled all the way through your story and photos--what wonderful memories your family is building at your new home. Congratulations! It looks like you and your husband are living your best lives.

What a wonderful time with your family! Soon the grands will be old enough to spend a week at the grandparents without the parents. You could have a grandchild week!

What a wonderful delight of grands. Those baby years are so precious, mine are college age. Love them but their lives are busy. I too love every moment with them. They are so cute. Love the binoculars. Dotti in CT

Is there an index of your recipes? So far I’ve only found a particular one by thumbing through all the recipes. Also is there an email where you can be reached directly? Carol in Texas….brownpandc@gmail.com

I’m so glad you have a beautiful kitchen to work your magic. Enjoy it. Looks like the birthday celebration was a hit even if the birthday girl didn’t want any thing special for her birthday. I, too, am looking forward to a tour of the new digs.

What a fun time! These pictures are wonderful, too. Grandchildren are the best entertainers, aren’t they?

So happy for ya'll. And that kitchen! Wow! The view! It would be very hard for me to tear myself away from that porch.
Just wanted to let you know I saw a NCAA Texas Cotton Longhorn panel $13.99 online at pinkeystoo.com and she has yardage to match. I am sure it is other places and you have already seen it but, just in case.....
