I was up early this morning and spent a little bit of time catching up with some of my favorite bloggers. I read this post from
Amy about how a Connecticut quilt shop was collecting pillowcases for the children attending the Sandy Hook Elementary School. Amy has a link in her post for the Quilter's Corner shop as well as their address..
We all want to DO something and as quilters, this is something we can all do. I still can not find the words, but prayers and a pillowcase are a start.
On another note: I can not understand how the Post Office can be in debt. I seem to spend an awful lot of time...and money there.
Prayers and pillowcases is a GREAT way to start! I totally agree on the post office thing. I feel like I'm doing my part exceedingly! :)
ReplyDeleteKarin,
ReplyDeleteWhile I generally support your sentiment, did you know that drunk drivers use alcohol to kill about 100 innocent people on U.S. roadways every day? That's four Newtown incidents every single day. I just wish I could understand why we reserve emotion for one type of mass murder while completely ignoring another.
I'd love to see activities like these for all heinous acts and not just the ones that the media hypes.
