It's Giveaway Day!

This Giveaway is now closed

It's time again for Sew Mama Sew's biannual giveaway party. I love participating because it's a great way to meet new bloggers and it's really just so much fun giving things away and when you win, you get to look forward to receiving a treat in the mail and who doesn't like that?

There's lots of places to visit and there will be all sorts of wonderful treasures to win so be sure and check out all the participants.

If this is your first time visiting here, welcome! If you've been here before, welcome back!

Here's what I have for y'all today. I've divided it up into 4 lots so you have 4 chances to win:

Lot #1  The ABC's of Words on Quilts by Elizabeth Scott
A Touch of Rosie Quilts (somehow, I ended up with 2 copies of this)
Turning Twenty Just Got Better by Tricia Cribbs

Lot #2  Fresh Fabric Treats from the Moda Bakeshop Designers
Easy Quilt Projects (Favorites from the Editors of American Patchwork and Quilting

Lot #3  3 - 1/2 yd cuts of Amy Butler Fabric.

Lot #4  3 1/2 yd cuts: 1 Desert Daydreams by Anthropology
2 Good Fortune by Kate Spain

So starting today you can put your name in the hat by leaving me a comment. Just tell me if you like to bind quilts. I like everything about making a quilt, but I think I like hand stitching the binding down to the back the most.

I'll let the random number generator choose 4 names and the first name gets first choice and so on. This giveaway will be open until Friday, May 10th, 5 p.m. PST. I will ship internationally so everyone can chime in! Thanks so much for stopping by. Friends and family say I always feed everyone who wanders down the dirt road so I feel as if I ought to at least be handing out cookies or something in honor of y'all. Fajitas are on the menu for tonight just in case you REALLY stop in. :)

  1. Lately I've enjoyed binding my quilts. Use to dread it, and why that changed I have no idea. Could be that binding being the last step, then the quilt is FINISHED! What a good feeling!

  51. Thanks for the chance.

I really enjoy binding. Sometimes it feels like it takes just as long to bind as it does to quilt! But I find it really relaxing to sit with the quilt in my lap and just work my way around it. My quilt mentor told us one day that it's our way of saying goodbye to the quilt. I like that thought.

    ReplyDelete
  52. The handstitching of the binding is THE BEST bit, because it means that you are almost finished!! I'd love the amy butler fabric the most, but all of your giveaways are very generous and would be most useful.

    ReplyDelete

If I am going to keep the quilt for myself or a loved one I will hand sew those.

  159. I used to love binding. I thought it was great and easy and super smooth. Then all of the sudden I can not get the corners right at all. I have changed nothing so I have no clue what is happening!

  160. I don't mind binding my quilts - of course I've only made 2 so far since I'm a new quilter. I will say though, that I don't like to hand sew so I bind mine entirely on the sewing machine.

  164. I love hand binding. It's just about my favorite part. It's mindless, and the quilt already looks so pretty.

  165. I don't particularly like sewing the binding, but am always motivated to do it because it is what stands in the way of a completed quilt! I always hand sew my binding. Perhaps one day I'll machine stitch it, but for now I'm sticking with what works for me.

  177. Thank you for a generous giveaway. Binding is ok for me.

  178. Binding is not my favourite part of quilting. The last quilt I hand finished had half a binding for ages until my youngest was in hospital so I finished whilst sitting next to her bed. I tend to machine the binding on now as I like to use my quilts instead of looking at them sitting in a pile waiting for binding!

  179. To be honest, I have never tried sewing on a binding by hand (gasp!) I always sew them down by machine (with a decorative stitch of my machine or a triple zig zag stitch). Don't judge me :o) Thanks for that generous giveaway!!!
