Boy Howdy! What happened to January?! If this is any indication of the year to come, I had better take a deep breath because the first month of the year just blew by. I am digging my heels into the dirt in an attempt to slow down time. I know...I know...it's not working. Even so, I get to spend so many of my days as I wish...riding shotgun with DH, trotting down the trail with Skeet, puttering outdoors, keeping the home fires burning, keeping the feathered flock in line, mucking out closets and shelves, enjoying a few road trips, celebrating a birthday, soaking in the kids when they visit, dishing up vittles, keeping pickup seats filled with cookies, and sewing a stitch or two between it all. I guess life has kept me away from the computer and my blog has suffered, but it's been a good month.
This month I worked on turning scraps into blocks for a quilt I am making for a friend - I'm about half way there:
I also left 2 baby quilt top with Jackie and picked them up yesterday - I love having quilts to bind:
I cut out the Zoologie quilt
I turned the monkey fabric
into a quilt top that still needs a border:
And I pulled out these fat quarters, pressed them, and began cutting for a new project:
It seems I have spent the month making a little progress on a lot of projects, but eventually that ought to yield some finished quilts.
I have to keep telling myself that the little bits will eventually add up to a finished item! Keep at it!
ReplyDeleteYou are always busy with good things, whether it is stitching, cooking, or ranching!
ReplyDeleteLove the monkey quilt top! :)
Fun projects!! Love the monkey quilt. The filler block makes the quilt look much more interesting than a four or nine patch would. ❤️
ReplyDeleteThat last one looks like you're takin' a walk on the WILD side!! HA You been busy!
ReplyDeleteLove the monkey quilt. I feel the same way about January - where has it gone.
ReplyDeleteFun projects! I love the fabric you're using. I need to broaden my browsing in quilt shops because I never see the fun fabrics.
ReplyDeleteYou are amazing!! I work on one project at a time (at least as regards quilts) and I'm not too speedy with the one! Love all your plans and stand amazed at your progress!!
ReplyDeleteI too love to have a quilt to bind. Unfortunately I haven't been enjoy that in 2018. I'm bound to have some in 2019, as little bits of sewing do add up. Love the Zoologie. Looking forward to this one grow. ;^)
ReplyDeleteGlad you've been able to do some sewing this month. Life sure is busy sometimes, I can't believe how quickly Jan has gone by either.
ReplyDeleteI have also been making blocks with two inch strips good way to use stash. Love the variety of your quilts.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you got a ton done tho!!! Our January screamed by too!! I am ready for another school break - ha ha
ReplyDeleteYour monkey quilt is so strikingly nice. I love the contrast and the framing. Nice job!
