Changes

I am a creature of habit that has learned to fly by the seat of her britches. We all know that Google reader is going away. When I first saw the message pop up, I had a look on my face like this:

I don't have a smart phone or any of the nifty tablets or an IPad. We have one desktop computer and I kept tabs on y'all through Reader. Then I started seeing 2 options pop up so I am trying out both of them.

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

or www.feedly.com

The jury's still out but here's an informative article that may help you decide: Feedly vs Bloglovin . Thus far, it hasn't been too painful.

Now I am off to bed. It is closing in on 8 pm and I am shutting down.

Some things never change.

Huh ... this is the first I've heard of this. But I don't use google reader ... I click on my blogs and read 'em, so I'm guessing this won't affect me? Why do things have to change?!?!? LOL! :)

Hi Karin - ok I signed up for both of them too and so far I'm liking Feedly better. I read on someone's blog that they thought that perhaps the Reader function of blogger won't disappear but I'm not counting on that. I'm with you - I hate change - there is more than enough of it in my life!

So far I'm really liking Bloglovin. It's great to read all the blogs I'm following in email format.

Ugh, I'm feeling the same as you. My DH and I each have a computer. None of the other stuff, not even fancy cell phones.
Guess I'll be trying to move over to feedly. Hope it's as easy to do as some other bloggers say.

I'm using Bloglovin because it's the first one I checked out....how bad is that?

I'm not thrilled with either option, but I chose Bloglovin because it allows me to organize the blogs better than Feedly.

All this makes me crazy. I am just not computer literate enough. I chose bloglovin because it was easier for me to sign up than the other. that is the only reason i chose it. It is working nicely and I do like getting it in my email. I still can not figure out how to get the bloglovin button. I cut and pasted the stuff posted and just a sentence came but it works anyway. Cant they just leave well enough alone...this makes me feel old! haha am I alone in this? haha have a blessed day...

Have you looked at The Old Reader at http://www.theoldreader.com/? Another blogger I read wrote his take on several different readers, though he didn't include bloglovin' as one of them. You can read his posts at http://blog.transylvaniandutch.com/2013/03/google-reader-alternatives-first-glance.html and http://blog.transylvaniandutch.com/2013/03/the-old-reader-works-some-serious-magic.html.

I was disappointed to learn that google will be discontinuing reader, too. I don't have to have one more account to have to sign in to!

I'll have to get research the different readers when I have some time in April.
