Anticipation

I can't type that without singing this song and thinking of the ketchup commercial from many moons ago.

I have a new project tumbling around in my head. I want to make a floral quilt and I've been collecting for some time now...here and there...mostly online...on sale... because trips to quilts shops are rare.

This pattern:

 this magazine:

 these fabrics:

I'm thinking the pattern allows for some larger pieces so I won't have to chop those gorgeous flowers up into little itty bitty pieces. The pattern calls for 25 10x13" pieces so I pulled 25 different fabrics. That'll leave me enough fabric for more floral quilts because suddenly I have a need to stitch...something...anything...with flowers. Now to figure out how to sneak in some time behind that sewing machine.

Until then, I'll just keep sticking my head into our girl's room where these are lined up and smile a little. I'm saving the big smiles for when she and her brother come for a visit. And no, I don't know when that'll be. All I know is that it can't be soon enough!

I saw that pattern also and thought it looked like a fun one to do. I also have a lot of floral fabric but mine are a lot older. Some my mom had when she passed. I think this would still be a great pattern to use some of them up. Love your blog.

I saw that pattern, also. I am trying to reduce my stash and that would be a great pattern. Love all your florals. Isn't anticipating a project almost as much fun as making it????

I am so loving that stack of fabrics. Good thing I don't know which dirt road you are on the end of or I might have to sneak over and fabricnap them.

Your fabrics look lovely and I really like that pattern. It looks easy enough that I could do it. I will check out that magazine as soon as I can. It's wonderful to take some time to sew especially since you are such a busy lady. And yes, the kids will return soon. It's such a great feeling, even though they may be away, that the kids will return. Just wait until the little ones come along, if they haven't already. Lots to do and make. I just returned two of my grandchildren to their Mother after 10 days, the nicest part of my summer. My grand-daughter made a lovely quilt. We did it in two days!! I will send you some pictures. Have a nice week.
