A few weeks ago I received a phone call out of the blue from the lady who owns the local sale barn. I know who she is, but I don't KNOW her. DH deals with her husband on a regular basis when we haul various loads into the sale barn and I often tag along, but rarely am I inside.
She asked me if I would be interested in a job. Ummm... I was shocked since I'm not looking for a job, but I figured I ought to at least give it some thought and prayer because surely there was a reason I had received this phone call. She said she's been looking for someone for a while and her SIL, who is one of the county extension agents, suggested I might be a good fit. I thought that was awfully nice of her to recommend me.
So I prayed about it and talked to DH about it and last week I went in for an interview. I have been out of the job market for a really long time and it all felt kind of strange, but I guess everything went well and I start on Monday.
Its VERY part time...just Monday's since that's sale day, but I think that will fit in really well with the rest of my life.
As we visited, Cindy told me that 4 of the ladies that worked there were quilters, including her and that they always brought things to show what they were working on or what they had finished. Yep. I think I just might fit in.
So if you're looking for me on Monday's, you can find me here:

Congrats! Sometimes the best things in life just fall into your lap! Enjoy!
Everything happens for a reason!! Just think - a job (helps pay for fabric) and new friends (who quilt) - IDEAL! Lucky you!
Congrats on having new quilting sisters! Sounds like it is going to be sew much fun. :)

It sounds like it might be lots of fun!! Extra money to buy fabric and to make new quilty friends in the bargain, how is that not perfect?
Well, well, look at you go! Congratulations! And yeah -- I think you'll fit in just fine!! A regular show-and-tell on Mondays! :)
One day in town that might work!! I know from your blog you are a home body like me:) What would be better than to work with quilters too. I grew up close to a town named Roswell. It is no longer a town just a few houses you don't even have to slow down on the the highway that passes it:(
Congratulations on your new adventure! Nowadays any time I start something new, especially a job, it's an adventure! Everything happens for a reason, and it's best to follow the lead it presents. Have fun, and one day a week is perfect with all that you do at home.
What a nice adventure this will be. I worked part time at a quilt shop for 8 years until they closed. Now I work from home, but do miss seeing my "customer" friends on a more regular basis. You will have fun and meet lots of new people (many of whom quilt). Have fun.
Enjoy this new adventure!
How fun! I always thought the sale barn would be a fun place to work!!
Woo Hoo!!! Seems like I always got my best jobs when I wasn't looking for them!!! And you will be working with show and tell quilters. You will get lots of ideas and you have plenty to share!!! Fabric money, too!! What's not to like??
Good for you having the courage to jump back in even though it's uncomfortable for you. And even more kudos for praying about it. Who knows the lives that might need to be touched by you.
Congratulations on a new job even if you weren't looking for it. God must have something great planned for you.
That's awesome ! It'll give you a little spending money for your favorite things !
That's awesome! I bet you will love it!! Plus you will get more quilty inspirations ;-)
Fun!! Good ladies to work with too!!
Sounds like a perfect fit. How's it all going? What kind of work do you do there?
Well, If I would continue reading...I would have answered several of my own questions! oops!
