which can be counted on each and every year:
And this year is no exception:
This time of the year we keep a sharp eye out for each new arrival:
They truly are like little kids the way they run and play and kick up their heels and swish their little fuzzy tails
I love their little wet noses!
Some are shy and peek out from underneath their Mamas:
And others are gregarious and inquisitive and eager to explore:
Although it isn't long before even they run back to their Mamas for a snack:
And they are always looking for their next meal:
I could spend hours out here watching them:
When the kids were growing up we would end up with a dogie calf almost every year for some reason or another and it was always a fun chore to feed them:
But its always much better when we DON'T have one because Mama does a much better job of raising her baby than we can with milk replacer. Still, those babies loved us and we fell in love with them:
Here are my first 2 dogie calves after we were married, Rambo and Trixie. Even after they were weaned, we could drive through the pasture and they would come running when they saw us or heard us call their names:
So today you get lots of pictures of sweet baby calves because that's the view from my window lately:
After all, who can resist a face like this?

Oh they are darling aren't they? Do miss that about spring on the ranch. Do hope for new babies this next spring....thank you for sharing.
One of the best times of the year! Calvikins!!! Love 'em!
Blessings
I love baby calves too! What breed are the cows and babies. I love the horns. We have had Texas Longhorns in the past and horned cows always will catch my eye. Such pretty babies you have. Can't blame you for watching them. Thanks for sharing the pictures.
Your babies are really beautiful. I love seeing the new borns when we go driving along the country roads near our home. I also love to see the baby horses too. And the baby chicks. Let's face it, all babies of any species are adorable.
I love watching the newborn calves, too, especially when the run with their tails straight in the air. They are lovable and humorous babies.
Oh my gosh, those calves are adorable, Karin. Lucky, lucky you!
Sweet! So happy that God placed you in a situation that feeds your soul.
What a sweet sight!!! Haven't feed a wee calf in a while, but we have three young steers we are raising for beef and there is always one that thinks he has to check out my pockets.
Loved your posts about your sale barn job!!!
Oh they are so sweet!!! And the memories! Priceless!
Thanks for sharing some spring time with us. :-) The first signs of spring are always encouraging, but these critters are great!
P.S. Even though we're still in drought conditions, I've enjoyed seeing more cattle in the pastures lately. We're still praying for good rains!

Such cute calves!! And the horns on the moms something we don't have. Except on Spot the longhorn:) Thanks for sharing hope our calves are born in nice weather like that.
Thanks for sharing your adorable babies. They made me smile and that's always a good thing! Happy spring!
What cute babies...I love to watch them playing around, pretending to eat hay & range cubes and running around with their little tails in the air.
Great post!!
I adore the newborn calves ... they have the sweetest faces! The camp property is bordered by two cow farmers, so we see the babies on a regular basis when it's calving season! Sawyer got to pet a more gregarious one -- so sweet! :)
Adorable. No spring around here. No cute baby calves, either. Thanks for all the pictures ... :) Pat
Cute! That fourth photo down is of a frowns little calf! He looks very upset. I hope you are getting some spring rains.
