While Hubby was Away Hunting...

...I reverted back to my night owl days

...I still could not manage to sleep past 6 even if I went to bed at 2

...I took a sabbatical from the kitchen

...I realized that a king-sized bed is too big when he's not here

...I thought I should try staying in my pajamas all day but never made it past 7 am

...it took me 1 minute to make the bed in the morning

...the ice cream bucket stayed full

...I spent glorious time in the mornings out with the horses, spoiling them even though they are ranch horses and not pets

...I missed the jingle of his spurs

...I baked cookies and gave them to the UPS man because hubby was not here to eat them

...I realized I could live off of tortillas, cheese, and pico de gallo, substituting a potato for the tortilla one day

...I made a pot of coffee for him out of habit (I love the smell, but do not drink it)

...I spent many a hour playing with fabric

...I missed him a lot

...I sewed every day until the cows (and hubby) came home

I love your post. I am jealous of the ranching life style, But the big question is - did your husband get anything while he was out hunting :-)

Love this! I love that you made coffee and you don't drink it--and love it even more that you gave your cookies to the UPS man. He probably was so grateful.

The spurs...I could tell my Dad's spur jingle from my Brother's. Dang, you just made me homesick for my childhood when spur jingles meant that Daddy was home for the day.

Aw, too sweet. Glad you enjoyed your time, but also very glad you were glad to have him back. :-)

Elisa - LOL, no. He came home without an elk, but he wasn't too disappointed because he goes for the experience of camping up in the mountains mostly. He saw bulls every day, but didn't shoot anything. He never gets away from the ranch so this was really good for him...next year!

Cheyenne - yes, the UPS man was thrilled! This is the first place we've lived where the UPS man actually delivers so we get pretty excited when he shows up!LOL!

Shelljo- I'm sorry I made you homesick, but I'm glad you have good memories. Want me to send you a set of spurs?

Naomi- Oh yes, we don't do very well apart!

I know that feeling . . . My Cowboy has been gone to work in Wyoming for almost a month now, and won't be back for a few weeks yet. I hate how quiet it is around here without him!
