I wanted to make just a little more progress on my UFO's before the end of the year so I made a point to dedicate a few hours the other day and applique the words onto my Three R's quilt:
When the thermometer looks like this:
And the view from the window looks like this:
And the road looks like this:
This is a good place to park:
Unless you are my husband. Then you are out in a pretty good snowstorm, on foot, doing this:

Then I stitched some more and added blocks to my Weaving the Rails scrap quilt. All of these plaids just make me happy.
That, along with the hum of the sewing machine was just what I needed and made for a really good Sunday.

Looks like you have the perfect combination for settling in for some sewing therapy!
Your husband bagged a nice-looking elk.
Amazing work as usual! Brrr....that's cold! We are at 10 degrees this morning here in KY and that was cold enough for me. Congrats to your hubby, nice elk! We are all big hunter's here too.
Have a wonderful and Blessed day

Plaids are so fun! My hubby has been out looking for an elk too, but nothing but tracks so far. We have so many restrictions on where one can hunt that he needs to take a GPS and map with him to make sure the elk, once he finds one, is legal!
I like where you parked it! And I like your scraps!!
We're so unprepared for snow like that! I doubt I'd have electricity if it were that deep here. :( blessings, marlene
Oh, you got some snow! Thats awesome. And a deer to boot, great going! Glad you've been able to get some sewing in :)
Warm and cozy under a quilt...that's a wonderful place to be ! One over your lap while sewing looks like a good idea too with all that snow and 2 degrees !
Finally, back at the machine!!! Good for you!!
Nice rack. Will he have it mounted?
Can hardly wait to see what you have stitched up for Christmas gifts tomorrow!!
I'm so glad you can fit in some sewing time. It's very comforting, isn't it?
Buurr, it's colder whet you live! So happy you were able to get some sewing done. That's a very nice buck!! Congrats to your hubby. I like your plaid strips! You have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Hope the kids come home and your kitchen is busy. We leave Tuesday for Texas for a week. Blessings to you sweet Ranch Lady!
What a nice view you have -- FROM INSIDE THE WARM HOUSE! Would not want to be out in it. We are not that cold yet, thank goodness. I love that you have your priorities right when the weather is cold. I like those plaids too.
