The last few days of October, I saw a quilt using this fabric
And instantly, I heard God whisper, "Brenna". Brenna is a close friend of our girl's. They were once co-workers and although they have changed jobs, their friendship has endured. Brenna is like family and an honorary aunt to baby L.
I've spent time with her numerous times and she's just a gem. She's also a bookworm like us, an old soul and thus, I simply had to make this quilt for her.
The quilt was paired with this fabric
So I jumped online and tracked it down. I pulled a brown from my stash to make a 3-yard quilt, enlarging it to 60" x 78". The pattern is called Elegance and is in a book called Big Blocks from Fabric Cafe.
The pages fabric came in a 108" so I used that on the back and bound it with the brown I used for the sashing
I made this very fast in order to get it to Jackie to give her time to quilt it before Christmas, but I still wasn't able to get it bound until after
Our girl said it would make Brenna cry. I hope not because I don't want to make anyone cry, but I hope she loves it as much as I loved making it for her. I hope she curls up under it often as she turns the pages and travels through the stories.

The way you used that print is just brilliant. She is a lucky girl! Beautiful.
Beautiful quilt! Yep you’re going to make her cry but it’s happy tears so it’s okay!☺️ I love that pattern. I will have to look for it. I have so many big prints and don’t know how to use them.
A very thoughtful and beautiful present for a beloved reader.
I love that book fabric. Fabulous quilt. L
