Money Doesn't Grow on Trees...

But apparently it DOES grow in the dryer! Wish my dryer always looked like this when I opened it! When the kids were little, I always told them that I got to keep anything that came out of their pockets, hoping that they would empty them of their treasures before they were washed. Alas, I still found rocks and sticks, discarded grasshoppers, and plenty of dirt, not to mention the occasional cast off calf ear tip or two if we happened to be branding.

By the time they were 10, they were doing their own laundry. :)

Oh, wow! Does the rule apply with your hubby, too?
Wish mine EVER looked like that. I think I found a dollar once. : )

OH!! So now you're into money laundering, huh? HA At least you know it's not 'filthy' lucre at the moment!! LOL

Wow, if that keeps happening often you'll be rich one of these days, Karin. But chances are, when it's a one couple household, all the money comes and goes from and to the same place. But maybe you have a fund of your how -- I hope! I did the same with my family when they were younger: if money's in the laundry, it's mine. Usually they never remembered that they'd left it in their pockets and never missed it.

I did the same thing with my sons at about the same age. Life lessons last!

Hubby dose the laundry here and considers it a tip when he finds cash in the dryer

My sister has the same laundry policy. My mother kept mason jars close by to collect bolts, nails, nuts and other pocket treasures.

Same rule at our house but all money went toward Christmas tree fund. This is still in effect, but we get smaller trees.

LOL! I mostly find fishing lures. :)

My honey is an engineer, so the treasures our dryer yields run more along the lines of springs, screws, and the occasional ink pen. I count myself blessed if I catch that particular gift before it hits the dryer, though. {grin}

Funny, I tell my DH that applies with his pockets, but it's only a dime or quarter once in a while. You were a great mom if you got your kids trained to do their own laundry at the age of 10. My DH has never done his own since he left home. In college, he conned a girl or two to do it, I'm sure. lol
