What I'm Working On...Maybe

Between cooking up a storm and working outside, there hasn't been much time to play with fabric. These cooler fall days are a welcome respite from the heat of summer and I am loath to miss a minute of it. But DH has been helping the neighbors this week and he's out the door by 4. He laughs and tells me to stay snuggled under the covers, but I just can't do that so what's a girl to do with almost 3 hours before daylight?

Get dressed.Throw in some laundry. Bible Study.Wash the floors. Clean the bathroom. Make the bed. That still leaves an hour and a half. :) I finally made my way to my sewing machine. Alas, I probably ought to tackle the piles that have grown up around it:

How does it get like this when I'm not sewing? It's been over 2 weeks since I've sewn a stitch. Clearing this pile could very well take all day so I veto that idea and riffle through a stack of patterns:

Pick a pattern. Any pattern. Let's start a new project! The fact that my bins of western fabric are overflowing, led me to the conclusion that I need to get these under control:

I think this pattern:

will let me showcase some of the fabrics so I begin to pull:

And I realize that I will likely never need to buy another western fabric ever again! :)
I may change my mind, but let the cutting begin!

I had to scroll past your last post with the cinnamon muffins because I KNOW I would want to try them! The pattern you chose will definitely showcase your western fabrics. And after your comment about never buying western fabric again I laughed and laughed! LOL

Other than the 4AM rising, this sounds all too familiar. My scrap bins are clearly out of control again. Love the pattern you selected for the Western fabrics.

Wow--you need to send some of your morning energy my way! My hubby gets up for work (by choice) every morning at 4:30, and after having a morning prayer together, I DO go back to bed!!
I think you have chosen an excellent pattern for showcasing fabric!

Thanks for sharing this pattern. I was able to find it (for free!)! by googling "Whimsical Quilt". It's perfect for some Berenstain Bears fabric I've been hoarding. Now if I can only remember where I stashed it.

Our mornings are a lot alike, But I don't get up till six. And this morning I went to the computer instead. I need to get back to my blogging and comment. It has been a troublesome summer,But I'm giving all that to God, I still have to do my part of crawling out of the whome I let myself get into..Hmm, wonder it takes so much longer to get out than it did to get in. Oh well I need the exercise anyway.
I started about a week ago getting my fabric is some kind of order, almost finished.
Hoping to get the jump on the new year. And start it right.
I have already started a little Christmas. Hey, I'm not doing too bad. I think I just climbed a couple more steps.
Have a great day.

I say the same thing all the time . . . and never follow up. Hmmmm...maybe you'll be a good influence on me?!? Your bins of western fabric are priceless! In the bottom pic, it looks (at first glance) like the figures jump from one print onto the next! How funny! Sounds like you've got a good handle on the early mornings! Hopefully though not for too much longer! :)
