From the Bookshelf

Many of you have shown interest in what I've been reading lately. I'm glad to know that in today's fast-paced, technology-driven world, folks still read. I can't remember a time when I didn't love reading and I love all forms of it. I'm a fan of libraries, e-books, audio books, used bookstores, and just bookstores in general. With my bum knee, I've had more time to sink into a comfy spot and lose myself between the pages and as requested, I thought I'd share the titles I've recently enjoyed.

Rainwater

Rainwater by [Brown, Sandra]

Dragonfly

The Nightingale

Where the Crawdads Sing

 Lilac Girls

The Tattooist of Auschwitz

Whistling Woman

Whistling Woman (Appalachian Journey Book 1) by [Tillery, CC, French, Christy Tillery , Hunter, Caitlyn]

A Mind of Her Own

And I'm currently reading this one:

Shadow of the Wind

And this one:

The Counselor

I think that may earn me some kind of bookworm status. No, I don't always read this voraciously, and yes, I am doing other things during the day. I'll come up for air at some point. 😉

Good morning Karin, thanks for taking the time to show us the books you've been reading. I always enjoying looking at new to me books and finding new authors to read. What did the Dr say about your knee? I hope it heals soon. Have a great day!

You've got to be careful with your knee so there's no permanent damage so reading is a great way to spend some down time. Hope your seeing some improvement, is the knee brace taking care of your knee or did you go to the doctor? Happy reading & stitching!

I think Where the Crawdads Sing is one of my all-time faves!! LOVED it! And love most anything Kristin Hannah. I have the Tattooist of Auschwitz on my 'books to read' list. Will have to check out the others. I pretty much stick to actual books as I find it too easy to 'do two things at once' if I'm listening to a book and wind up missing parts.

That's quite a list! I'm a mystery fan and just discovered Louise Penny and her "Three Pines" village. Her writing is tight and delightful. I read about 1/2 of "The Lilac Girls" and had to put it down. It was too hard, emotionally, for me to get through.

I'm just saying: said...

Quite a few of the books you listed are on my tbr. I have so many library books I need to get through and then I need to put myself on a library ban and read my own books. lol
Hope your knee is healing quickly and properly.

Thanks so much for your sharing what books you’ve been reading. Most of them are on my want to read list.
I’ve injured my knee years ago so can sympathize with you— hope and pray that yours will heal quickly and well.

Had a minute this morning to see what you've been up to. Sorry to hear about the knee that isn't fun at all! We've had some medical stuff come up lately too and we're not excited about it, but hope that things will go well. It's fun to see all you've been making, reading and doing. Thanks for sharing. I'm off to plug up some fence holes so I can let my chickens out of their tiny coop for a bit today (they're newcomers to our house so we're still figuring out accommodations). Then tomorrow I'm off to my Mom's for a few days of canning and visit to the dr for my son. All the best.

Where the Crawdad sings has held appeal to me for a good while...lately Lilac Girls looks appealing too...but right now I am reading The Far Family by Wilma Dykeman. I own and have read Whistling woman. Right now I cannot remember anything about it other than I like it.
