A Few Stitches

I don't know what happened to November...or the rest of the year for that matter. And here we with our feet planted in December. It just makes me laugh because I have heard that time passes quickly if you're having fun so apparently we are having the time of our lives. LOL.

Alas, all of this fun hasn't allowed me much time to sew. Not a complaint - just an observation. I only worked on and finished one quilt in November, but it's a gift so I'll show it after Christmas. But I did pick up 2 quilts from Jackie 2 weeks ago

and I spent a little time stitching the binding to the fronts:

So I've got something to bind during the month of December and with these longer evenings, that's always a welcome project.  The WNFR (Wrangler National Finals Rodeo) began last night. That's 10 nights of something we enjoy watching although we record it each night and watch the previous night's performance the following evening so we can watch earlier and not have to stay up so late. Our eyes begin to close by 8:30.

So if you need me after the sun goes down, I'll be curled up on the sofa. Watching the WNFR. With Skeet. Next to DH. Sipping hot tea. Binding a quilt. It's a good way to close out the day.

Best way to spend the long winter nights.

Sounds like a perfect end to a good day. We nod off around 8:30, too. Now that it gets dark at 5:00, the evenings seem too long. And I always used to wonder how my grandfather could go to bed that early! Haha!

This year truly has flown by! I'm right there with you on the WNFR! I just got back from Las Vegas this morning in fact. I'm on the Miss Rodeo Texas committee, and I was there so see our young woman compete for Miss Rodeo America. The pageant is at South Point, so we watched the first 3 nights of the NFR on big screens in their show room. Then after the rodeo, the winners from each round come to the show room for the buckle presentations - it was the next best thing to seats at the Thomas & Mack :-) Texas came in 2nd runner up at the pageant, we are very proud of her! Colorado (Hailey Frederiksen) is the new Miss Rodeo America, and very deservedly! Now it's back to the real world and work - but I'll be watching the rodeo tonight in my PJ's :-)
