Scrap Jar Obssession

I need an intervention. Seriously. This is getting out of hand. It is the middle of the night and I can't sleep. Granted, the phone woke me up just before 1 am, but then I couldn't go back to sleep. When I can 't sleep, I figure it's God's way of telling me I should be praying so that's what I do...that and catch up on reading your blogs. The praying is a good, productive activity. Reading blogs at 2 am is questionable. I was plumb content, scrolling along, chuckling at your adventures that you so kindly share and being perfectly content...although sleeping would have made me pretty content too.
Then I hopped over to Amber's blog and this popped up:

My heart skipped a beat. Really, it did. Then Amber unfolded it:

I fell instantly, completely, head over heels in love. Must. Make. Now. There's only one problem. It's 2:30 in the morning and my sewing machine is in the bedroom where DH is snoozing. And I don't think I have enough of any white to make a monster quilt...and a table topper...and a table runner. And what about that list that I seem to be adding to daily. No. Stop! Don't think about that.Quick, run to check if you have enough white fabric. Rifle...vewy quietly...like I am hunting wabbits... through my box stuffed with nuetrals.

See? Never a good idea to blog in the middle of the night. Nope. Oh, but I can shop online! Never a good idea to do that in the middle of the night either. Especially when you already have a shopping cart filled with goodies at the FQS. I'm waiting for them to get a bolt of fabric that is slated to arrive this month before I hit order. And I'm fairly certain that if I place an order now, I will be quite perplexed when Tony arrives in his brown truck. I will look at him quizzically and say, "But I didn't order anything!" Then he will pat me on the shoulder and drive away slowly shaking his head and saying, "Poor thing...she's losing it."

Thanks for sharing Amber's quilt - I'm following her now. Maybe you should ask her for a follower's fee. :)I agree with you about waking up and praying, and when He brings someone to mind (especially someone I hadn't thought of for awhile)to pray for that person. Have a wonderful day!

I hate sleepless nights! Sometimes I think I will get up and sew but my sewing room is upstairs straight over the master bedroom. I can get by with using my regular sewing machine for piecing but not the quilting machine, it is too loud and vibrates, or so he says... :)

But on a lighter note, I'm sorta glad that you could not sleep and were reading blogs because I love the quilt that you posted! :) I am trying to use up some scraps and my older stash, I think this will be a perfect quilt for that! I think I will start cutting the colored fabrics first and then do the background!

Thanks so much
Kristie

I saw this beauty too but quickly looked away. I can't get distracted right now I have WAY too much on my plate. I love your story, and the fact that you know your UPS driver's name. LOL

Well, it sure doesn't hurt to save a photo of that beautiful quilt. And it doesn't hurt to pull fabrics for it from your stash. Sure doesn't hurt either to browse on-line shops and order what isn't in your stash. Can we help it if our stash doesn't have all the needed fabrics?
Thanks for sharing!

It's a beautiful quilt! Not sleeping through the night sounds pretty expensive! :)

Hahaha!! I say that *all* the time! How true, how true. Have fun with your new project!! LOL! Oh ... and I love that I'm not the only one who knows their UPS driver's name. In fact, I have his number programmed in my cell (and vice versa) so he can call me when he's at the gate and I can give him the code! :)

You and me both! That is one amazing quilt!

Sorry about the sleepless thing. I iron. A lot. Or cut scrap. Good, prayerful activities.
