With one click, it was headed my way and now that it has arrived, I just look at it every day and think, "What in the world am I going to do with it?"
I love it and I do think it's just the ticket, but I often struggle with selecting patterns. I am thinking of something along the lines of a square in a square for the little focus animals. They are 3" square and I think that would make them a little more prominent.
Yes? No? I'll just pull out coordinating fabrics as I decide on what I'm doing. I know I want to tone it down a bit with some earth tones. I do not want to make this harder than it has to be, but I'm hoping for a classy-safari-baby quilt. :) Time is of the essence because we all know how fast babies grow!

I made 2 baby quilt with a jungle theme for twin great grand sons. I used a lot of Laurel Burch fabrics and the "Take 5" pattern. Turned out really cute. Although I used the same fabrics and pattern, I changed the layout for each so they were not quite the same and used different colors for the back.
Darling fabric - I love the vivid colors.
If the square in a square idea doesn't work, you might try a strippie quilt with coordinating fabrics.
I love the fabric. I did a similar one several years ago and made the animals the center of stars using various animal prints for the points of the stars. It turned out great.

I think the Warm Wishes quilt (http://www.quiltmaker.com/patterns/details.html?idx=5215) might be a good pattern for this quilt--it is fast and easy and is perfect for those theme squares.
I just came across a pattern (free) that might work for your baby quilt. Here is the link: www.clothworks.com/collection.asp?ID=405
I hope this helps.
I think square-in-a-square would be perfect for this quilt, Karin, especially because the animal squares are only 3". It's fun fabric for a baby quilt.
Square in a square is a good way to use this print. It would likely be my choice, too. The print is so detailed that I would keep it simple.
I'm sure your will come up with a lovely quilt. Isn't there just a baby rush?! I've made two baby quilts in the last two months and have two more to make. A cousin is due in November and my brother and SIL in February.
