It's What's For Supper

Can I just say that this smoker is the best thing since sliced bread?! Every time we smoke something and sit down to eat, we say, "It just doesn't get any better than this!". It's dove season so dove was on the menu today. We stuffed it with a slice of jalapeno, added some rub, and wrapped it with bacon. Oh my! That was some seriously amazing food!

We also smoked ribs for the first time...perfection!

DH has this smoking thing down! We had the dove for dinner and then when the ribs came off, we just stood in the kitchen eating them directly from pan.

Last week it was chicken

and roast...both just so, so good!

Next up, brisket and probably some more chicken and most certainly more dove! DH already said that we may need a bigger smoker and I know exactly where we can get one! :)

We are having so much fun!

You are a clever woman --- as DH takes on some of the cooking duties, that just might give you more time to sew or . . .

Okay - I'm finally going to write you a comment - I've been reading - just haven't taken time to write. Way to go DH!!! The cooker is awesome and the food looks great - I'll be right over!! LOL So glad that you are getting some projects done - I'm trying, but...well you know how life is!! Catch ya later!!

Oh yummy -- all those things you smoked look so good - especially since it's dinner time here and I'm starved! Wish you were closer, we'd be over in a flash. My DH loves ribs fixed almost anyway. I know he would love them smoked, but he's not an outdoor guy to do it. Darn! Next time I'm bringing home a cowboy! ha ha

What does dove taste like? Chicken? I never thought of dove as food, so it seems novel to me. Glad you're getting so much enjoyment out of the smoker.

They look yummy! We haven't tried the beef yet, but yours sure look nice and lean, what's the secret? Did you smoke them in the pan? Next time you smoke try putting some salt in the bottom of a shallow pan such as those that come from a bought pie. Cover the bottom of the pan about 1/8th of an inch, smoke until rather dark. Now try that on your potato!

Don't you love people like me who don't drop in for weeks, and then come through and *bomb* you with comments?!? Your smoked meat looks good -- I haven't had any dove in a couple of years -- wrapped in bacon it's one of my favorites! :)
