My Latest Finish

I think I posted about this project when I first brought home the pattern back in January,

but I think I've been remiss in posting any progress on it. I just stitched a bit here and there and then suddenly it was finished and I took it to Hobby Lobby when they had their framing on sale. Can I just say that they are still expensive? However, I am thrilled with the finished product. I knew exactly how I wanted it framed and they always do a wonderful job although this time, the lady tried really hard to get me to mat it with one of their specialty cutout mats, but I stood firm. I wanted simple. I wanted barn wood.

I just now noticed that I must have taken that picture at an odd angle. The left side of the frame looks really deep. I haven't a clue, but I'm not taking another one.

I am going to research how to make my own frames from now on because I have an abundance of barn wood at my disposal.

I love everything about it! You can take the girl outta Texas, but you can't take Texas outta the girl!

What a coincidence - I just bought a barnwood frame from Hobby Lobby a couple days ago! Mine is for a scripture quote - "As for me and mine . . . " It's printed on burlap and looks really good with that frame.
I think your Texas wall hanging looks marvelous in that frame, too. Who knew there could be so many uses for a barnwood frame?!

I L.O.V.E barnwood frames!! Especially when they frame an exquisite piece of art. My Texas brother would love that.

Yeee Haaaa, you Texas girl!!!!! LOL!!!

That is just beautiful. I love everything Texas related, but it's because I live in Texas!

Lovely finish.

Framing is expensive wherever you go. Sometimes, I wish I had a miter saw so I could make my own.

The best place to find frames is yard sales.

Beautiful!!!!
I had one item framed at HL and was greatly disappointed so I pay more for a local shop to do it. After all that work I want it finished nice too!!!!

Was it the young Hispanic girl who used to work in fabric???? She is as sweet as can be, but she WILL NOT let you choose what you want on your picture!!!!! It is terrible! She helped me on my picture that Bill Owen painted Bryce in. She pushed and nixed until I wanted to harm her. I finally rolled it up and brought it back when there was another lady there. This is the 3rd time she's done that. Errrrr!

Your frame did come out great though and it does look perfect!

Just stunning! Where are you going to display it? Get yourself a miter box with the saw. Your first efforts probably won't be perfect (now that's dumb of me to assume that, you're probably more of a perfectionist than I am!) I know you can do it much better than I ever did. You go girl!

That frame really sets off your TEXAS art work beautifully. Good job for sticking to your guns!

I recently wanted some barn wood frames. Went to Hobby Lobby and couldn't find what I considered affordable. Found some online that were less expensive, even with shipping costs. Without glass (which I didn't want anyway) and of course I had to put my item in and secure it but that was no big deal.

or they say text/call 918-534-6139.
But I'm sure with a simple miter box and saw, you can make your own especially if hubby is handy at all.

Wow, this is really pretty! You did a terrific job stitching this! The frame is fun -- it rather sums it all up quite nicely! :)

For those of you who have been inquiring about this pattern - I found it at a little cross stitch shop in San Antonio called Stitches From the Heart. They don't have a search feature on their site so you may have to contact them to see if they still have it. I looked online as I'm sure y'all have and have been unable to find it. Good luck!

Could you possibly make a copy of the pattern and let me have one? I would be happy to pay for it and the postage to mail it. I live in Buda, TX and have been looking for it forever!

Would you happen to have a copy of that pattern? My sisters neighbor has it and framed. She is in her 80’s and moving back to TX with family. My sister teases her to leave that framed cross stitch with her. I would Love to make her one. If you no longer have the pattern, would you have information on where to get it? Thanks franspur11@gmail.com
