Skeet has a passion for footwear. He doesn't chew on them. He just prefers to snuggle with them:
This was our forecast last week:
But we even surpassed that:
So, although he sleeps on the porch at night and spends his mornings and evening outside:
He gets a pass and spends the heat of the afternoon napping indoors:
Puppies are champion nappers and I'm thinking this is a pretty good way to spend the dog days of summer:

Skeet's recharging his batteries for more puppy play. Love the photos: his belly is just screaming to be rubbed.
I'd be melting in all that heat and would probably nap a lot, too.
Such sweet pics of that puppy...love them! Hot, very hot, here, too!
Skeet loves your shoes because they have the most intense odor of you. He probably loves dad's shoes the best. And the stolen flower pot! Reminds me of my old dog, long past. She would play "bucket"---tossing and chasing a nursery bucket occupied her for hours. Much longer than a ball.
You could send us 10 degrees--just head to the Pacific NW!
We left California on Tuesday. Nevada was blistering. We are pulling a boat with our Tahoe to Dallas, TX. We made it to Tonapah, NV that night we had drank tea in Hawthorne, NV. HOT!! We could not sleep Tuesday night so drove to Las Vegas and to Hoover Dam to rest. We then drove to Kingman, AZ. to a Walmart. We tried to rest but it was at 7:30 in the morning. We were so tired and rummy from not sleeping. We then drove to Williams to a Route 66 and the town was fantastic!! We slept all night in a hotel!! Today we blew a boat tire past Flagstaff so limped to the thriving town, haha, of Holbrook. We bought 1 tire as he only had 1 tire! We are going to stop at Gallup, New Mexico for another. We are having fun. That town of Williams was a blast!! The heat is 96!!
Skeet is just too cute!! I love the way pups can be running their little legs off and suddenly sit and fall over sound asleep. I'm so jealous of all the puppy licks you are getting....LOL!!!!
Oh, hot! Do you have air conditioning? Do you get to enjoy it during the day or are you often outside? And your husband? Outside a lot? My family history interests come to play here -- I often think of my ancestor farmers and wonder how they managed in the heat.
Skeet looks so cuddle-able. I wish I could pick him up and give him a snuggle. I love the quilt he's laying next to. He's very cute.
Stay cool -- if you can!

Such a cutie! I love reading your posts--it's like I've been able to take a little trip into the country!
That is so funny about the footwear. Doesn't seem like it would be an easy thing with which to cuddle. : )
Oh, how do you handle that heat? When I go out in our yard with our temps in the 90s I feel like I am going to suffocate!
Brenna - thank you - I'm glad you could stop by for a visit! Our life isn't very exciting, but we love it - it's a good life and we are thankful for so much. Now, if we could only make it rain. :)
Looks like the weather is "plenty much hot"! We haven't had those kind of temperatures here - yet - this summer. My in-laws who live in Albuquerque were back East because of a death in the family and while they were there their sprinkler system at home died. They expected to find a crispy dried lawn when they got home!
Your puppy is cute! :-) My brother's cat likes shoes too. Maybe it's the gross smell. Some animals like those you know. ;-)
Oh My Stars - he is too cute. My big dog loves to sleep on shoes and boots too - especially winter boots.... sigh
