We have 6 guineas and this year one of them has gone broody. She's decided to make her nest in a corner outside the barn. DH put up some pallets to discourage intruders and yesterday he walked by and noticed she was off her nest - this is what he saw:
I think we have an over-achiever. He now has me researching how to incubate guinea eggs because there is no way she will be able to tend to all those babies. And yes, we know that only a small percentage will actually hatch, but if we incubate some of them, we may be able to increase our guinea flock.

LOL!! Wow Karin, over-achiever for sure. I hope that you can incubate some of them. GOod luck, and have fun.
Good Grief!!! Has she been stealing the eggs of some of the other chickens? Good luck helping her hatch those puppies! HA
I think the other girls are laying there also! If you think they are fertilized, they would need to be incubated as she is laying on them. I remember a chicken show awhile back and incubation must start when the eggs are warm, taken from under the Mom. I doubt these eggs will hatch but you do have lots of eggs for breakfast!
Oh my goodness, I didn’t know they could lay so many. Hugs,
Amazing! Obviously, she wants to be a Mama.
Wow, that’s a lot of eggs. Be sure to show us what hatches.
My goodness! Overachiever might even be an understatement! I need to increase my guinea flock, but since the only 2 I have left are both male, I'm gonna have to go to the sale and see what I can find.
