Celebrating You

Can I just take a minute to tell ya'll how awesome ya'll are? I've been blogging for almost 13 years and I never thought folks would actually take the time to read my little online journal of life that began at the end of a dirt road.

Initially, our girl (who is the REAL writer in the family) and a group of gals from a scrapbooking site planted the seed and encouraged me to begin blogging. The gals said I was like the Pioneer Woman. This was before she became famous and now I laugh when I think of that comment. Not. Even. Close. But I'm happy at the end of my little dirt road and ya'll are a part of that. The fact that you are all so very kind and take the time to pop in for a visit and leave such dear and thoughtful comments just makes my day and in this fast-paced world, I am humbled that you choose to do so. I feel as if it's a one way street though so I really love it when ya'll share parts of your lives and stories with me too. I am touched by your words.

I don't feel like our lives are exciting, out of the ordinary perhaps, but not exciting. But I really do want to document what our life is like for the kids and future grand kids. I love reading memoirs  and I guess this is just my way of writing down our story. I really DO wish I had started when we were first married. And I hope that somehow, somewhere, ya'll are writing down your stories as well. Your story is important. Your story matters.

So, thank you! Thank you for your kindness. Thank you for your generosity. Thank you for your honesty. Thank you for your time. Thank you for your friendship. Thank you for making me smile, learn, think, chuckle, cry, and laugh out loud...oh, ya'll are a  hoot! And thank you for sharing yourselves with me!

P.S. Skeet thanks you too! I think he has a fan club! 😎

With so much craziness in the world Karin, it's nice to look at life 'in the slow lane'... I mean, from someone else's point of view in the slow lane ;) I love your photography, and I love looking at the quilts you make. Thank you for putting a smile on my face. Have a great day!

You are so kind. I love to read about other quilters & what they are doing & living. Yes, this is a very crazy, scary world right now. BUT we, quilters have each other & we stick together. It helps to keep things in perspective & let us know things will be all right.....sometime down that road. Whether it's dirt or asphalt. I don't comment often, but I do read always. Love your ranch stories. Love your quilts & LOVE Skeet.

Yup, I’m one of Skeets fans. And wondering what breed(s) he is please. I live in Maine, have always has some farm animals but now only one horse. We now have a Cattle Dog and she is the best farm dog ever.

Your posts bring back wonderful memories of my life at the end of a dirt road, so keep the photos and posts coming! It’s been a pure pleasure to “meet” you and your family.

I am happy I came across your blog (not that long ago) and discover the wonderful person you are. It's not a one way street, believe me. You bring to us as much (if not more) as you receive. I don't always take the time to write a comment, but I do come and pay a visit with every post you publish. It is a balm of calm in my crazy world. It's a few minutes of peace in my head full of doubts and questions about my family's health and work and so on. I thank you for being you, no matter how "not exciting" you think you are, I need you just the way you are. I often tell my boys "always do your best and stay honest because you never know who sees you as their hero". God bless you. ♥ ;^)

I'm definitely a member of the Skeet fan club! Yours is one of the first blogs I found when I started mine 11 years ago. Wow! How the time flies! Some people say that blogs are going by the wayside, but I still like documenting our adventures on my blog. I hope you keep yours up for a long time to come!

Karin, your blog is like a high desert breeze blowing through an open window and billowing the lace curtains. Love every post and thank YOU for blogging! Love seeing Skeet enjoying a good run! Stay safe and well. "Psalms 46:10. Be still and know that I am God!" We WILL get through this!

Oh my goodness, all the thanks go to you! You are the one who takes the time from your busy life to share it with us. I love your photos. All of them, that one of the long dirt rode heading toward the mountains should be framed. Open space --how wonderful! And the animals, love 'em. The variety of your tasks is amazing. And your recipes, mmm. I like seeing things, the world thru your eyes. It's all good. Thank you for keeping on keeping on. Blessed Easter to you and yours.

I love your blog and Skeet too! I think most readers would agree that on most days you get more done before noon than most people get done in a day! Your life is so different from my own but I can relate to a lot of it since I grew up in a small town and a lot of my friends were farm kids! When you post about cooking and working on the ranch, it takes me back to staying at my best friend’s farm! Her mom was an awesome cook, quilter, and gardener! Congratulations on 13 years of blogging! Sadly too many have not lasted!

So enjoy reading your blog. My husband would say "she's the real deal." He says the PW is into her own promotion. And yes, I consider myself a charter member of the Skeet fan club.

I enjoy your blog, seeing your life similar to mine yet so different. A connection with family that I have found as I have gotten "older" is important. I have to smile when I see pictures of DH, when were where children can you believe we called him little G! Your quilts are wonderful and so are your recipes.
