Today our boy headed back to California. We have enjoyed every moment of his post-deployment leave and have no complaints with the exception that time went by much too quickly. Still, it was good for all of us, Our girl came down 2 weekends in a row and he drove up to see her this past weekend. I am so thankful for their relationship with each other.
So now I sit. Feeling forlorn and lost and really, really sad.
A word to the wise. When you are faced with the choice to pull weeds and rake or browse through old photographs on a day such as today...pull weeds and rake.
However, that too made me sad because instead of pulling this:
It reminded me of how I wish I were still pulling this:
And this:
I may or may not spend the day in tears...and prayers for his safe travels today and tomorrow. I love you to infinity and beyond son.

Love the photos and can see why they brought tears.
Just remember that your son may not be "home," but thankfully, he is HOME and safe. Phone calls are not the same, but I have a feeling he is pretty good about keeping in touch. ;oD
Love the pictures of the wagon that has been around for a while. And what a lovely black and white cat too! Sorry you are sad today. I'm sure it was hard to see him leave again. I'm so glad you all enjoyed time together.
Hugs for you Karin. Tyler will be in your heart and safe.
The tuxedo cat is georgous!
Awww, that makes me cry too, mama. Sending you hugs from Texas.
It is so hard to have our children away. I'll be praying for your son as he serves our country. My son has 2 friends serving in the Marines. One is in Japan and one is being deployed in January for a year. We understand the sacrifice that families make for our country to be free.
Well, crying always is more better in company ... so I've decided to join you. :) Thank you again for so selflessly giving your son for the service of our country. I know how terribly hard it is and yet how proud you are of him! :)
I can bet he loves his mama to infinity and beyond, too ((HUGS))
Praying for your whole family as I know your hearts are sad. Pulling weeds is good, but pulling a wagon is better.
Awwww, sweetie-- I sure understand how you are feeling! {{{{HUGS for YOU!}}}}
Gah - the last picture - he is so grown up!!! hugs for you - I am so glad you had a wonderful time with him home, and sorry for the emptyness.... Make him call you every hour!!!
Aww...your post touched my soul. I feel your pain my friend. Hang in there...we will help pray for his safe return!
The great moments always fly by so fast. HUGS to you!
